The last sliver of daylight leaves the arena, turning everything a steely black-blue colour. With mutts at the final tributes feet, everyone is still.
Until the parachute comes.
So tiny, it’s around the size of a finger. Ray scoops it up, finding a miniature vile. Opening it up, a pungent smell wafts into Rays nose. He can instantly tell it’s poison. Suddenly, all hell rips loose.
Kina grabs her bow, aiming it at Matthew’s head. It narrowly misses his head, but grazes his ear. He falls back, slipping. He slides off the edge of the cornucopia, only holding on with his hands. Kina jumps over, pushing him, giving him a long and violent death to the mutts.
Ray darts to the edge of the cornucopia, dipping a small stone into the disgusting poison. He grabs his slingshot, and throw’s it at Kina. It impales Kina into her infected leg, killing her immediately.
It’s the final two.
